Empties everywhere…

 willnotgogently:

Rung nodded, doing his best not to look too worried.  He saw the energon that was starting to well up and the color didn’t look healthy at all.  It could just be that he was different, that he had some sort of sickness like cybercrosis or the like that made his energon bleed differently.  Or maybe it was just the light that they were in that made it seem like it was the same shade as what came from the Empties.  But Megatron was still alive and Rung had medication packed away that he hadn’t even thought he might need later.  Good thing he had some foresight or he’d be panicking a lot more right now.

Nodding again, he caught his vents and lifted his staff, moving over to Tacitus and striking out with it to catch one of the Swoopers in the helm, giving Tacitus enough distance to dig in his claws and rip out its middle and then crush the things head.  Rung could tell the Insecticon really wanted to keep fighting and was struggling not to move away from Rung and their new friend and the small orange mech appreciated it.  Touching Tacitus’ wrist, he pointed down the road and motioned for him to come with.  He cast one last look at Megatron and smiled as most of the sharp edges in his plating began to fold back

“I… would appreciate if you didn’t mention this to anyone.” He said as they walked at a fast pace, wanting to put all of this behind them.

Megatron found himself more and more impressed with the little mech. He could claim that he was recovering from being pinned, but in reality he was transfixed for a moment by the way Rung assisted his Insecticon. He was fearless and precise out of necessity, loyal, and despite his stature willing and more than able to fight. The jagged edges of Rung’s strangely altered frame featured low in his mind compared to these, although a part of him worried that he’d been infected too. Please, not this one.

As they neared the shuttle, Megatron shook his helm in answer. “You are not the only one with secrets. Most in my clan are aware of my condition,” this word he sneered. “-but there are young ones who don’t need yet another concern on their heads, not so long as I remain functional.” He waved up at the guard in the massive ship’s cockpit, and a cargo door slid halfway open. Just enough to fit Tacitus through with some wriggling. “To mutual discretion, Rung.”

Megatron lead the way inside and helped the new arrivals through the battered entrance quickly, lest they attract further unwanted attention. A slim seeker was first to greet them, an arm-mounted missile aimed squarely at the silver warrior’s chest. His smirk was positively serpentine.

“Brought along some appetizers for yourself, My Liege? By my count, you’ll be reverting to a feral state in just a few moments, ready to devour us all. Perhaps I should simply put you out of your misery, instead?” Megatron glared down at him, managing to look both irritated and bored as he batted the blaster away.

“That chronometer of yours needs repair, Starscream. I’ll give you credit for effort, but you can’t frighten them with something they already know. Where is Shockwave?” Starscream pouted, folding his blaster away. He looked over Rung and Tacitus with derision, judging them to be unworthy of an introduction now that they couldn’t be scared off. Just some minibot and its dangerous pet. His wings flicked, grin returning.

“Shockwave is otherwise occupied. Knock Out needed repairs he couldn’t complete on his own.” A question for another time. Megatron scowled, he would have to make do with what medicine he’d collected. Without the scientist’s additives, he would have to take a double dose… “Oh dear, will that mean you’ll miss your precious appointment? My offer to end your suffering stands as always, My Lord.” The warrior’s glare only sharpened, as he pointedly ignored the thorn in his side and began to search through his subspace for injections. Only now that Megatron was preoccupied did Starscream give the new pair his full attention. Maybe he could still have a bit of fun.

“And you. He hasn’t touched you, has he?”
