That couldn’t possibly be it, but he had to take Megatron’s word for it. His dwindling energon levels forced him not to be picky. For now, he could play nice. Be wary, yes, but civil.

The sound of bridge echoed down the corridor. Bumblebee raised his helm, watching as the looming silhouette grew closer and closer. He glared as Megatron laughed, forcing himself to stand and at least give the illusion that he held control of the situation. The mechanism creaked, digging into his armor just a little deeper. He couldn’t hold back a hiss.

“You kept a lot of information here, maybe more than you should have. Not to mention Kaon was the best maintained out of the citystates, I got the power back up here. I figured there was something worth finding…”

He sighed, shaking his helm as he pushed off the wall. Swaying on his good pede, he took a hesitant step towards Megatron. “Ok, sure, whatever, c-can we just get going? It’s creeping closer to unbearable again.”

Megatron straightened back up, shaking his helm with an amused smirk.

“Impressive that you reactivated the power grid, but failing to shut down the security measures could have gotten you killed. You’re lucky the secondary mechanism is stuck, or I would be extracting your shredded limb from its gears.” It was still a possibility, if a slim one. The grinder had been rusted still over ages of improper maintenance, but if the occasional creak was anything to go by, it was still trying to turn. Best to remove it as soon as possible.

“You really think we would have left this place to rot without stripping it of sensitive data? Your opinion of me is even lower than I expected.” Putting himself on the side of Bee’s injured leg, Megatron offered an arm to brace against. Thankfully, it was the one without a cannon strapped to it.

“You shouldn’t have come here alone, Scout. Even without the traps, there are scraplet nests in these decrepit buildings. Are you trying to disappear into the wastes?”
