Miscalculation

A similar surge lanced through the Prime, but it was certainly not the thrill of battle, but rather the dread of what would happen should the crazed tyrant meet his alternate. The weight of the situation continued to press downward as he cursed under his breath; Communications had been cut to the Autbots of that Universe.

« You are mistaken! Your target is not to whom you speak! » An edge of panic leaked into this communications line, « I urge you to reconsider this foolish endeavor— You are preparing to do battle with my Alternate! »

The last part of his transmission coming in one thought, spoken far more quickly than he meant to.

Megatron’s trademark manic grin slips into a look of confusion as he halts his advance. ::Alternate?:: Prime had said that he wasn’t on the ship, but his soldiers had reported seeing Optimus coming to the aid of his subordinates.

::So… You have left your team in the hands of another. You have grown careless in victory. You were never enough to defeat me, Optimus. What makes you think some cheap imitation can!?::

He resumed his path through the halls with renewed speed, though his previous elation was now dulled with something one may have called disappointment.

::Their deaths will be on your helm.::
