Miscalculation

With the invasion well underway, the Autobot leader had no doubt been alerted to the attack by now, and was perhaps even on his way to aid his allies. Excellent. Unaware that the Prime he had come to fight was somewhere else entirely, Megatron accessed his comm signal, humor in his tone.

::Optimus… You’re not so naive to think that you could be rid of me so easily, are you? You should know by now never to underestimate me and my Decepticons, dead or alive.::

« … Megatron? »

The shelving unit that he had been holding nearly slipped from his grip, causing a piece of the Archive’s roof to fall and the Eradicon that had been assisting him to shoot a visored glare.

A quick wave dismissed the purple ‘bot and his gaze turned to the floor directly in front of him. This was not a message he’d been expecting, nor did he have any context other than…

« I did not know you had returned. » Or how that was possible; He had visited the Tyrants resting place when they arrived back on Cybertron.

::Don’t sound so surprised. We have fought each other for too long, old friend. This time however, I have taken a page from your book. If their panicked comms have told you nothing, your allies are facing Decepticon super-soldiers from across the multiversal plane. The Nemesis is ours, and you made the mistake of claiming it as your new base of operation- a mistake that will soon be remedied.:: A set of schematics is sent, pinpointing his location on the hull of the ship. A silent challenge. A pity that it was sent in error.
