:: Megatron, what’s going on? A quarantine notification just popped up on my HUD…wow, was it really three days ago? Anyway, is there anything I can do? ::

They’re all starting to notice. It’s only a matter of time before a curious neutral strays too close…

::A contagion is spreading from Tyger Pax, released by some sort of cult that took up residence there a month prior. A secretion of some kind that decays and rusts and… contorts what it touches.::

You both need it, whether you think highly of me or not.

You are needed, by those around you and by those you call friend. Both you and Smokescreen fall into the same line of thinking, to hide or downplay your injuries so that others won’t worry. If you continue to do this, if you continue to keep yourself from admitting your state and allowing yourself recovery, you will die. And if you think that will stop your friends from worrying, you’re right. It will devastate them instead, eat at them from the inside as they wonder and doubt what they could have done to better help, to prevent it even if there was nothing they could have done. If you would rather put everyone through that than let them tend your wounds for a while, you’re a crueler mech than I am.

Besides that, you are the one who defeated me. I am ill accustomed to expressing gratitude apart from ensuring your continued survival.

I don’t know what to think of you anymore.

You’re missing a pretty big point. Unlike Smokescreen – and don’t get me wrong, I love him – I get help, I’ve learned that by now. I have to, especially if Vorte– when I know I’m going to be in…a situation in the near future. Don’t accuse me of something I’m not doing. [Even then, the fight’s starting to fade from Bumblebee. His voice lacks the edge it had before, far more subdued now than he was moments before. Because ultimately, Megatron was right.]

…You’ll never cease to confuse me. You killed me and I have a seemingly endless grudge. I killed you and you want to protect me. I almost liked it better when the universe made sense.

*Megatron’s smile is tired, but it stays. Bee is a warrior after all.*

Almost is a very important word. Rest. Try to take comfort in the fact that I’d rather protect you than kill you a second time. One less enemy to worry about.

I have done this to Smokescreen, too. You both seem to forget that your well being is not only your concern.

You still didn’t answer my question. Why do you care?

…Keep doing it to Smokey though, he needs it and he thinks highly of you.

04. Zombie Apocalypse AU.

Bumblebee is constantly putting himself in danger for the sake of the others. He scouts ahead to clear a path, and on more than one occasion has drawn the ravenous creatures away from his group before ducking into the tunnels to double back, risking a whole other threat: scraplets.

Recently, Bee’s group (primarily Autobots) and Megatron’s group (mostly Decepticons) has teamed up, but there’s still distrust in the ranks. Especially of the giant infected warrior. Megatron’s attempting to gain a little more trust, but there’s only so much you can do when you’re carrying the virus that turns mecha into ravenous hollow monsters.

Huh, looks like you’re not too big after all.

Did I ask for your input on this matter

No, but it definitely makes you more approachable for me. I’m used to being one of the shortest mechs in our universe so this is great.

I do not go out of my way to seem “approachable.” My appearance is functional, and I change it as is necessary. This is a change that has been made against my will, and does nothing but makes everything more inconvenient and makes me even more irritable than usual.

But please, if I seem approachable now, do continue.
