Fatal Blow
Megatron stands over the Prime’s chassis, pinning him down. His cannon is heated, about to deal the finishing shot to his helm- when he feels a painful fluctuation in his spark. The dark energon was reacting as if some extension of it had been cut off. But there were no Terrorcons left…
Behind him, he hears and feels Soundwave fall to the ground. Looking away for a moment gives the Prime time enough to knock Megatron off balance and put some distance between them before transforming his weapons once more. Megatron doesn’t take his optics from Optimus again, but takes a step back towards where he felt the spy had fallen. The Prime’s optics narrow in confusion as the warlord continues to glare and takes another step back, turning sideways to see the Wrecker on an outcropping behind him, having used the final shot from his auxiliary blaster in an attempt to shoot him from behind. It could have killed him, but Soundwave…
Still glaring, Megatron shows his open servo to Optimus, powering down his heated cannon. After a few tense moments, the Prime nods and conceals his weapons as well, despite the protests of his remaining teammates. Only now does Megatron turn away to view what, until moments ago, had been his loyal Third in Command. Now it was nothing more than a broken husk, charred and sparking where it had been torn apart. The dark energon could do much, but the warlord could not detect his EM field any longer.
Silently, the warlord calls for a ground bridge.
He gets down to lift what he can of Soundwave from the dirt. As a green swirling portal opens, Megatron turns back to glare at the Autobots with newfound malice. “You have cost me much, Optimus. But for this, I will make each one of you suffer.“
He walks through the bridge as Soundwave’s frame begins to twitch again- but it is not Soundwave. It doesn’t feel the same. It feels like every other Terrorcon under his command. No longer a mech. Merely an extension of himself now- and something Megatron could not bear to experience. He removes the visor from the creature’s feral face and drops it into the engine without further ceremony, dissolving the broken frame completely.
He lingers for only a cycle after subspacing the visor.

It all happened in a mere splitsecond. The white Wrecker had pointed his Blaster at Megatron, trying to settle scores from behind. But Soundwave recognized the danger in time, and did the only thing a soldier was expected to.
Protecting their Lord.
He always would have layed down his life for Megatron. That if would come to this one day..he wouldnt have excluded it.
The ground did not hurt as he crashed to it, knowing he had done the right thing. The warlord stopped in his actions, gazing back to see his longest follower bleeding on the ground. Soundwaves optics dimmed behind the screen, he could no longer see. But the azure Spy herd that the battle had seized, heavy footsteps mixed with anger and anxiety approaching.
Soundwave did not need his optics to function to recognize his Lord as he ever so gently scooped his broken frame from the soil, wordlessly carrying him away. The buzzing sound of a groundbridge telling the Spy that they were leaving. Apparently, the fight had ended.
Once they were out of sight, the slender Con carefully leaned his head against the massive chest, softly brushing the other with his EM field.
"Soundwave: Failed. Soundwave: Apologizes.”
Though he had saved his Master, he was no lnger able to fulfill the promise to his Lord he once vowed.
Always staying at his side.
It was strange. Soundwave always had been there. Never really left the warlord. Always watching, always looking out. What would happen now?
His lights darkened, a voiceless mewl leaving his vocals.
Although Megatron did not show any sign of fear or sorrow openly, he could still detect the tyrants EM field going haywire. Worry and guilt bleeding through. Why did he take the blow aimed for him? What should he do without his longest friend? Without Soundwaves guidance to keep him balanced? What about the Decepticons?
The dark blue mech shifted his helm, one arm lifting to rest upon the gladiators insignia.
There. The cause will always exist. With or without him. As long as Megatron survives, so does the cause. He does not regret his decision, the only thing he regrets is: Not being able to watch you finally defeat the Autobots and taking your place as the ruler of this planet. But he knows you will succeed. And though he wont be able to assist his Lord any longer, he will still be connected to his Lord through their memories. Remeber him and he will be there, giving you the strength you need in order to move on.
For a short moment, he let silence prevail. Was there anything left to say?
A static filled chuckle left his vocals, his mouth turning into a smile behind the darkene glass.
There is one thing left. Something he never got to admit all tose vorns. But now he will not have another chance to finally say it.
Soundwave knows such thoughts are foolish, but he wants to you to know at least.
Forgive him he could not say it any sooner..
The slender mechs arm fell limp. His biolights blackened. He knew Megatron was aware of what would happen next. But the trusted his partner..his intended “mate" to know what measured he had to take.
Feeling his visor being removed, the pain finally faded. Together with the unholy life he had been granted a long time ago. But as long as Megatron would live, he did not care…
