*When Soundwave arrives, Megatron doesn’t say anything else. He waits until the door has closed them off from everything and tentatively reaches out for the slender mech to come closer. A silent, rather innocent request for contact.*

To-Do List
Confront Starscream and continue speaking to Soundwave, interrogate the soldier, accompany Knockout to Pharma, continue writing announcement speech. Ensure that is is appropriately worded. Make a call. Get some rest. Replace optic filters. Lay out details of plan.
Megatron watches the minibot leave, and is now left alone with a sparkling who’s cried herself to sleep. She should not do so on the floor. He picks her up and sets her on the counter under a warm lamp. His internal chronometer alerts that it is time for him to power down as well.
Unlike most other nights where he’s ignored it in irritation and claimed an inability to fall into recharge, he finds his way to the berth as scheduled and powers down without issue. No dreams. No nightmares. Just efficient rest.
-He will stay with you for tonight. This day was exhausting. May he recharge with you-
After days of forcing himself to remain alert, Megatron finally succumbs to recharge. It’s for the best and will allow his spark and processor alike to rest and begin repair-
Nevermind the nightmares he’d been seeking to avoid.
The spring seethes and the river surges
Please watch over that deep sea
You soar up into the air with mysterious wings
Please guide that dark sky
The dawn rains freely
Moistens my cheeks
Like embracing a child
I’d like it to surround me tenderly
A glance that seems to burn
The power to pursue a beautiful dream
Please put on your heart and soul
And take me along to a sinless era
You soar up into the air with mysterious wings
Please guide that dark sky
Amen

He was chained to a chair because they knew he could get out of rope and handcuffs. On the opposite side of the room, his assistant had broken in to rescue him, but behind him stood 10 gunmen.
The look she gave him was unbearably apologetic. The guns started going off.
Max started awake, running a hand through his hair and trying to control his breathing. He was alone in his bedroom. Fumbling in the dark, he grabs for his cellphone, hovering over Cecilia’s speed dial… No. Nothing was wrong. No one knew. They were safe.
He sets the phone back down and sits on the side of the bed, staring into the dark. The only light comes from his digital clock and a tiny vial of luminescent purple. 3:00 am and he wasn’t getting back to sleep any time soon.
He slips into his gym for a late-night work out, leaving his room completely black.
