20. Rust Plague AU

Vaccines were getting harder and harder to come by. Megatron himself seemed resistant to this particular strain, his medics crediting it to the fact that he’d suffered through a similar condition in his youth and survived, (or more likely, the dark energon coursing through him. This, however, was not public knowledge.) Even so, he was warned against coming into direct contact with any of the victims. Most of them were going to die within the week anyway, there was no reason to visit them.

Of course, telling Megatron that something is a bad idea is pointless once he’s made up his mind. Perhaps not the entire fleet, but he made a point to check in on those who had fought with him in the arena. These were the strongest of his Decepticons, both in strength and devotion, and out of everyone they should have had the best chance at recovery. It was eerie to see all of them so still, downed by something so microscopic as unnatural oxidation. Blackout was a holdout, old and stubborn, approaching the 10-day mark that so few had reached. If he could just stay awake past then, the plague would run its course and he might survive. Warning or no, Megatron put a servo on his shoulder.

“You will fight this. You will win. Is that understood?”

Zombie Apocalypse AU!!!

Finding the downed shuttle had been a stroke of luck. Megatron and his companions took shelter in its hull for a few days before realizing that the craft was in fact still alive, if incredibly low on fuel. Knock Out and Shockwave immediately began running tests on him, testing for the virus and lo and behold: as much damage as the large mech had suffered, his cloaking was still active. The undead could not detect his, or any life signals within his walls. He remained uninfected.

Shockwave is working bit by bit to restore enough of the mech’s CPU to allow him to speak. Most of the Decepticons voted against restoring sentience to their one place of refuge, but the Autobots wouldn’t hear of it, not if he was still alive in there. Megatron has a feeling that all getting him to speak will accomplish is having a screaming house on their hands.

Zombie Apocalypse AU

Finding the child had been a miracle. She was on her own, not a mark on her- but there was about to be. Megatron had been hesitant to touch her due to the irrational thought that even his touch might infect the youngling, but the situation demanded it. She was scooped up off the ground before the creatures got to them, and carried directly to the haven.

Megatron would keep a close watch on the little femme, making sure she got enough fuel, ensuring her bill of health was spotless. No youngling deserved to be subjected to this Hell, but he’d be damned if he didn’t at least make it safe as possible for her.

He would do everything in his power to hide his infection from her, for as long as possible.

12. Reincarnation AU w/ big-shoes-to-fill

It had been years since Megatron had finally laid down his sword for the last time. Soundwave had made good on his promise, dividing up the old mech’s frame so that he could not become Unicron’s eternal puppet.

Stories and theories were thrown around among religious mechs as to what became of the Lord High Protector’s spark after he passed. Some affirmed that the Allspark was the final resting place for all, no matter what. Others believed that he was forever barred from their creator, his spark doomed to fade into nothingness for his transgressions. Still others claimed that the rituals the foreigner performed were pointless, and that Megatron was with Unicron now, bound even in death by the dark energon.

A swell of newsparks came not long after, guided to the surface by a mech named Sabri. It was natural for newsparks to feel an attachment to the mech who first taught them, but a large one who came to call himself Dragline kept particularly close. When asked why he preferred Sabri’s company, he can’t explain it beyond “…Feels better.”

04. Zombie Apocalypse AU.

Bumblebee is constantly putting himself in danger for the sake of the others. He scouts ahead to clear a path, and on more than one occasion has drawn the ravenous creatures away from his group before ducking into the tunnels to double back, risking a whole other threat: scraplets.

Recently, Bee’s group (primarily Autobots) and Megatron’s group (mostly Decepticons) has teamed up, but there’s still distrust in the ranks. Especially of the giant infected warrior. Megatron’s attempting to gain a little more trust, but there’s only so much you can do when you’re carrying the virus that turns mecha into ravenous hollow monsters.

Zombie Apocalypse AU

Megatron has been bitten, but isn’t showing any symptoms yet. A certain steroid (similar to Synth En) is able to keep the infection from spreading, but it needs to be administered every day, and the supply won’t last forever. Normally they wouldn’t bother trying to save him, but Megatron’s gotten them this far.

Starscream, predictably is the main advocate to just leave him in the wastelands to rust and turn feral, but no one wants a zombie to have access to a fusion cannon, either.

Rung joined their small group a bit later, when they found him holed up in his bar with a few other survivors. They move together, finding safe places and moving when the zombies catch up. He might not be a therapist anymore, but Rung and Megatron can sometimes be found having deep discussions, about everything from life and death, to how the color of the sky has changed since The Event.

01. World War One / 1920s AU.

Prohibition era! Megatron has risen up to be one of the most feared/respected crime bosses of (robot equivalent of Chicago) via his chain of extremely successful businesses- all of which house a speakeasy. His demeanor is as cutthroat as his practices, earning Megatron a reputation so ruthless that local law enforcement doesn’t dare touch him. It doesn’t help that he was a heavyweight boxer in his youth.

In this AU, PURELY BECAUSE AESTHETIC, clothes make the mech. Tailored suits custom to frametype, hats, ties, the works. Because of kibble, the fancy stuff even takes a few people to get on! Megatron’s made a pretty penny on his moonshine, so he’s got a classy 3-piece that takes a half hour. Nothing screams power like pinstripes.

Bee’s a newsy, a paper boy who provides the big boss with info about the goings on of the cops and other local big shots. With Bee’s observations, he can stay three steps ahead of the game. The little guy gets a cut, and even some sharp clothes out of it!

In the early days of the war, Gigantion sought peace with their ruthless invaders, the Decepticons. Blackguard was strong and clever, and what better way to secure a truce than with a bonding ceremony?

Megatron had originally been intending to take over the planet regardless. It would hardly be difficult with his firepower, and he could use all the resources he could get. However… his new wife was having none of it. She was scared of him, as any sensible mech would be, but she didn’t let fear stop her from berating him about going back on his word, even to the point of blocking his way and offering to fight him if he continued.

To say he’s smitten is an understatement.
